動画を撮影したのは環境保護活動家のポール・ロゾリー。「ハキリアリがテントに穴を開け、その穴から蚊が入ってきて、さらにはどういう訳かバッタや蛾などの昆虫も入ってきていた」という。
動画にはハキリアリがテントのナイロン素材を切り取って持ち去る様子や、ロズリーのバックパックを破壊する様子も映し出されている。結局、残されたのはバックパックのストラップ部分だけだったという。
